Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is readily diagnosed and treated. An effective preventative measure is hormone replacement therapy (HRT) at the time of menopause. Calcium and vitamin supplements and exercise are not sufficient in high risk groups. However, HRT has certain risks as well and its institution requires careful consideration.
